Preliminary Task - Editing

Editing
When it came to editing, as a group, we knew we needed to be organised if the process was going to go swiftly. Firstly, we put all the separate shots from the task onto the computer and gave them names so it was easier to see which shot was which. For example, some names used were 'light switch' and 'door handle'. Next, we put the first shot into the editing software we were using - Adobe Premiere Pro - and began to play around with the different tools at our disposal. This was just to get a feel for the software so that when it comes to our real task, we are experienced on how to use it. Once we had a handle on the tools, the editing started. It took approximately 2 hours to edit the whole preliminary task, including adding sound, but the whole group finished with a final project that they were proud of.

The group worked well together when editing because everyone took a turn at trying to edit so there was not a specific person working on that one task. This made the editing process fair. One member of the group found sound to go in the preliminary task that they thought complimented the video. Then, all of the group voiced their opinions on the sound and the ones that we all agreed on went in the final preliminary task. By doing this, all of the group got an equal say in each component of the task. Finally, titles were added into this project. This was a smart decision as it gives us the experience of using titles before having to include them in the final project that will be marked.
